Dr. Jade Hidle (she/her) is a proud first-generation college graduate with a BA and MFA in Creative Writing from CSU Long Beach and a PhD in Literature from UC San Diego. Jade is currently a faculty member in the Letters Department at MiraCosta College where she is the English Instructor for the Mana Program serving Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students, as well as the editor-in-chief of Tidepools Journal. Also a published author, Jade published a travel memoir, The Return to Viet Nam, and her work has also been featured in Michigan Quarterly Review: Mixtape, Southern Humanities Review, Poetry Northwest, Columbia Journal, and the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network’s diacritics.org. On Thursday, October 13th at 12 PM, the founders of [inherspacejournal] will be hosting a blackout poetry event in collaboration with California State University San Marcos's Women and Gender Equality Center!

The event will center around blackout poetry using pages and prose from women authors. The purpose of this event is to create a safe space to express your artistic voice and share your story!

Irina Tall (Novikova) is an artist, graphic artist, and illustrator. She graduated from the State Academy of Slavic Cultures with a degree in art, and also has a Bachelor's degree in design. The first personal exhibition "My soul is like a wild hawk" (2002) was held in the Museum of Maxim Bagdanovich. In 2020, she took part in Poznań Art Week. Irina enjoys drawing various fantastic creatures such as unicorns and animals with human faces.

Maria Jungers is a writer, yoga teacher, and founder of [inherspace]. She was raised in Oceanside, California and embraces her bicultural identity as a Filipino American. She is the youngest of eight children, and sought refuge in poetry at a very young age to cope with the chaos in the household. While completing her Bachelors of Arts degree in Literature and Writing at California State University San Marcos, she decided to create an intentional space that invests in the flourishing community of women in literature. No matter the cultural background, sexual orientation, religion, career choice, vaccination status, or color of your skin, she believes that the strong voices of women are meant to be uplifted and valued. Away from her laptop and yoga mat, she enjoys hiking and long road trips with her friends.

Danica Morris is a writer, poet, and co-founder of [inherspace]. Morris was born and raised in San Diego, California where she still resides today. Growing up, she often felt alone or isolated due to her adopted and biracial background, believing she didn’t have a voice or a place to fit in. However, through poems and prose, she gained the power and strength to write about difficult times being a woman and an individual trying to navigate through life while discovering who she is. She hopes to inspire other women who connect with her through experiences, and hopes to encourage others to fight through their words. In her free time, she enjoys baking and finding new coffee shops to try.
